Bio

I lost my hearing, starting in the spring of 1994 when I was 17 years old. After 12 years that were filled with both struggles and amazing developments, I decided I wanted to try and bring sound back into my life. I had cochlear implant surgery on December 2, 2005 and the device, the Nucleus Freedom, was activated on December 27th. This journal is all about how I am adapting and learning to hear again.
